For the second time in recent weeks, a chapter of the Pi Beta Phi sorority is being accused of drunkenly trashing a facility during a formal dance. At a March 6 party sponsored by the group’s Ohio University chapter, attendees engaged in sex acts, used plates as “missiles” during food fights, vomited on carpets, defecated in urinals, and tried to tear off the clothes of a female bartender, according to a letter written by the director of the West Virginia art center where the formal was held. In her April 6 letter to the sorority,… Abby Hayhurst, head of the Parkersburg Art Center, reported that catering staff witnessed “a couple engaging in sexual congress, while surrounded by a cheering throng,” and that a bathroom sink was broken as a result of “one of your members and her date attempting to have sexual relations on it, an act which was witnessed by the event’s caterer, who walked in on them.” The art center, which reported the damage to the Parkersburg Police Department, is seeking about $47,000 from the sorority, which contends that the art center has exaggerated its damages. Last month, the Pi Beta Phi chapter at Miami University was suspended after a wild April 9 spring formal at a lakefront Ohio lodge. In a letter detailing damages and the sorority’s wild behavior, lodge owner Lyndsay Rapier-Phipps noted that the students were “totally obliterated and behaving like immature children.” In her letter, Rapier-Phipps mistakenly identifies the rampaging sorority as Phi Delta Pi.

I don’t understand the complaints. According to Obama, it takes a wide range of experimentation to develop and define a person’s character. It won’t be to long before one of these upstanding young ladies is nominated to the Supreme Court.

This story reminded me of the following passage from Theodore Dalrymple’s Our Culture, What’s Left of It: 

In no country has the process of vulgarization gone further than in Britain: in this, at least, we lead the world. A nation famed not so long ago for the restraint of its manners is now notorious for the coarseness of its appetites and its unbridled and anti-social attempts to satisfy them. The mass drunkenness seen on weekends in the center of every British town and city, rendering them unendurable to even minimally civilized people, goes hand in hand with the appallingly crude, violent, and shallow relations between the sexes. Britain’s mass bastardy is not a sign of an increase in the authenticity of our human relations but a natural consequence of the unbridled hedonism that leads in short order to chaos and misery, especially among the poor. Take restraint away, and violent discord follows. (page 52)

I don’t think the majority of the girls behave like that. For example, in this story only some of the sorority members were drunk and disorderly. Randy B shouldn’t write off these girls yet because some may decide to get their act together someday. By the way I am not suprised by this since Miami University is one of the biggest party schools in the nation.

In general I write off any of the “young ladies” who were in attendance. Any young lady of character would not have been in attendance, or would have left once they witnessed the first indication of bad behavior. Unfortunately the lesson that we (me through news and others experiences) are learning is that of tolerance and forgiveness. This type of behavior is not only tolerated but promoted by the tenured Socialist Professors whose sole reason for existence is to reprogram our youth into self-devaluation. Regardless of the outcome or disposition of punitive action, assuming the school will do anything to any of the offenders, the next words out of their mouth will be “forgiveness.” 

This is the model for all universities to inject “Christianity” into campus life, but as I quoted, it is a perversion of Christianity. Tolerance and Forgiveness are Christian tenants, but not as in the previous examples. One of the most misquoted and misrepresented statements in the Bible is; Judge not least ye be judged. Taking the Bible in its entirety, and using it as a whole life lesson, that is clearly not the message that was intended, and it is specifically misquoted to inject liberalism into Christianity. The Bible clearly calls us to judge and discriminate, if that were not the case we would not have been given such clear standard operating procedure, as given by the Ten Commandments. Lot was called to find several, finally down to one good man in Soddom and Gomorrah (actually several cities), but how would he have been able to determine the character of that one good man without discrimination and judgment. There are hundreds of examples in the Bible where we are commanded to separate good from evil, and my call on this topic is just that. We should not make excuses or yield the moral high ground, for if we weaken our position the evil acts will at some point be apologized out of existence, or a future posture of pre-forgiveness will be a mandate for all bad behavior. 

Yes, these “ladies” might turn their lives around, but I call on you to place your monies on that bet if you really believe the odds are in your favor. I don’t and won’t. 

With such horrible, corrupt and criminal behavior coming from our elected officials, sports personalities, the Hollyweird elite, and in many cases Parents; what example do these ladies have to use as an acceptable societal standard for behavior?
