Revolting Students

THEIR universities heavily-subsidized for many years, British students now consider a cheap degree an entitlement. In London yesterday, 50,000 students rioted over proposals to raise the current cap on tuition of $5,624 (in US dollars) per year to a range of $9,600 to $14,400. Some shattered windows and threw bottles. These photos of the devolving British people are from The Daily Mail.

There was several hundred thousand pounds of damage, dozens of arrests, and some 20 officers injured in the riots.

The fifth photo in the Daily Mail article shows the danger of role reversal. Bloodied and shaken female cops are escorted away from the scene. A number of things jump to mind: Are they really equipped, physically and mentally, to deal with riots? Also, they’re clearly female despite the silly uniforms, and that didn’t seem to stop the predominantly male protestors from targeting them. Is this the sort of equality and respect feminists want?

Kilroy M. writes:

I found the caption under this photograph hilarious: “Demonstrators waving a flag from the roof 30 Millbank after storming the building.”

Yes, that’s right, it’s just “a flag” and nothing more. No violent revolutionary undertone there. No need to comment or editorialise.

On the other hand, if this were a soccer match and that were St George’s Cross, I’m sure there would be some comment about nativism and xenophobia.

Laura writes:

What is that flag?

Kilroy writes:

It’s the flag of “Antifa”, which is a contracted name for “Anti Fascist”, an organisation of anarchists and far left thugs whose idea of combating “fascism” is throwing bricks, assault, riots during protests, shutting down conferences held by patriotic groups and conservatives, and generally, well… being fascist.
