Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way

Your blog, in general, has inspired me to invest in my home the way I used to invest in my resume and to document my efforts.
Thank you.

Fred Owens writes:
I feel for a woman who would rather stay home and bake and would like to consider her 9-to-5 job as a hobby rather than a career.
What she needs is a Job Nanny. A job nanny is very similar to a nanny at home who watches the children, but in this case, the job nanny minds your desk when you have more important things to do. You hand over your routine work to the job nanny and explain to your boss (who can be very childish in his own way by demanding ALL your attention) that you will be spending “quality time” at work, and reserve your working energy for the most important tasks. Remind your boss with frequent reassurances that you will be only a phone call away, and that your job nanny can handle most small problems. In no time at all your job nanny and your boss will form a warm and productive relationship.
Get a Job Nanny, and you will have plenty of time for baking.

I laughed uncontrollably at Fred Owens’ witty analogy. Perhaps, over time, if Mrs. Hall does procure an actual, professional Job Nanny, the child-like boss can even be retrained to see the full-time baking as economically beneficial to his position in the workplace.
