“Aschemiolatry” is a coinage by me based on two Greek words. Some time ago, Alan Roebuck asked me whether I could come up with a word to name the modern perverse worship of ugliness. Aschemia (the initial a being a negation), from scheme, or “order,” pairs nicely with latreia, or “worship” (as in idolatry). Hence: Aschemiolatry.
