That which proceeds from God begins with a salutary fear and finishes with peace of mind. That which comes from Satan begins with calmness and ends in storm, indifference and apathy.

Interesting considering that just last night I was reading in The Demonologist that Ed Warren seemed to be a fan of Pio. Interesting book, by the by. Not for the faint of heart or casual reader who might think, “Hey, The Conjuring was a good movie! Maybe I’ll take in a good book tonight!” It’s a great sleeping cure for those not in the know.
Despite disagreeing with the Warrens on several areas, I found the book to be quite interesting. Separating suspension of disbelief from the story the book tells, the book shows what power can be manifested through the united front that this married couple presented (written in 1980, before such teamwork was labeled as sexist and revolting). Always “Ed and Lorraine” Warren, not the other way around. She clearly supported Ed and it showed. She seemed to know that her husband could not be both responsible for her and answerable to her. I found their interactions, above all the sensationalism in the book, to be a nice change.
Off-topic a bit but I haven’t heard ‘Padre Pio’ in ages, much less in the same couple of days.
