Paul C. writes:

The root cause of this tragedy is somewhere near a falling away from God’s plan.  I expect many of us contribute to one degree or the other.  For example, I watch and enjoy ungodly Media, have never married, get irritated publicly, etc.  In other words, I and many others don’t serve as models who turn away from the dominant godless culture.  God’s plan is for women to bear and to raise children and for men to make it possible.

Male boors can be dealt with in due course if we refuse to return to the overbearing head and master marital regime, which was warped by the courts such that a brutal dictatorship was possible in the family.  It led to some women feeling they were lowly failures if their marriages were destroyed by a boor or worse.

Technology at first seemingly encourages a falling away.  The pill, washing machines, and relatively safe abortions for example enable potential family members to turn away from the family and indulge in what feels good, at least for a while.  Yet how many families now get together at mother’s or grandmother’s after church for Sunday dinner?  Not many.  It used to be what we did on Sunday.  Gone.  Mother is too exhausted from her career or told she should be too exhausted.  These dinners were part of what it was to be a family.  The dinners can’t happen while mother is having sex with strange men in foxholes and heads on ships.  And make no mistake, mother is having sex with strange men while in the military.  Hormones and close contact demand it.  (The uber-liberal TV show MASH celebrated that this was occurring or might have been occurring during a far more traditional, religious time.)  Politicians and the culture ignore what they know it feels like to be crammed next to a comely member of the opposite sex who must show them attention.

It does not take much thinking to realize there are opportunities for talented or go-getter women.  These opportunities should not be used to destroy the family.  Considering the new technologies that free wives from time-consuming chores, we can find a balance if only we repeal liberalism.  Perhaps part of a new balance is families having more children than prior generations, not fewer.  What a revolutionary idea?

It is sites like yours that remind us of our failings.  This is a beginning.
