On Anita Bryant

KYLE writes:

As a mother, I know that homosexuals cannot biologically reproduce children; therefore, they must recruit our children.

American country-singer and former Miss Oklahoma, Anita Bryant, made the above comment sometime during her anti-“gay rights” campaign in the 1970’s. Bryant spearheaded fundamentalist Christian anxiety over the homosexual rights advocacy groups emerging in the wake of Roe v. Wade and the Sexual Revolution. Bryant fell on the field of cultural battle; her efforts have proven to be a pyrrhic victory in light of recent developments in public education curriculum that plants the LGBTQ seed in the heads of children.

Bryant’s first foray into challenging social degeneracy was on March 23, 1969 when she participated in the Rally For Decency at the Orange Bowl to protest The Doors’ lead-singer, Jim Morrison–who had just made headlines by pulling his penis out on stage during a live performance in Miami. After some courtroom hoopla and protests from the older generation, Morrison, a known drug addict, would die over two years later at the age of 27 in France.

In June 1977, her campaign efforts led to a repeal of anti-discrimination ordinances in the state of Florida, putting a prohibition on homosexual adoption, a ban that lasted until 2008. Celebrities began to boycott Florida orange juice, for Bryant was a prominent spokesperson for the Florida Citrus Commission.

Bryant’s public life began to fade after activist, Tom Higgins, ran up and slammed a banana cream pie in her face while she was doing a press conference in Des Moines, Iowa on October 27, 1977. In the video, she remarked “at least it was a fruit pie” (a derogatory pun for homosexual men). In the video, her tone shifts from nervous deflection to tears. Bryant and her husband began to pray for the man as cameras rolled. “We love you as a person but can’t stand the garbage you spout,” said Higgins before walking off camera.

In the years since, she’s gone through a myriad of setbacks and tragedies that include bankruptcy, divorce and a torpedoed career. Bryant, now age 77, once took a strong public stance against one of the tenets of the modern, secular orthodoxy and came out broken and beaten. However, personal trials and tribulations aside, she accurately foresaw that the homosexual rights movement would seek to form the minds of children on the subject.

LGBTQ “curriculum” is becoming compulsory in the classrooms of elementary school children throughout Europe and North America. In British Columbia, SOGI, (Social Orientation & Gender Identification) a radical, far-left gender-identity curriculum is being implemented in public schools. Here’s their mission statement:

“Led by educators and SOGI leaders from across Western Canada, SOGI 1 2 3 equips educators of all backgrounds and experiences with tools and resources for supporting marginalized LGBTQ students and for creating safer and more inclusive school environments for all students.” (Sogieducation.org)

CBN News recently did a story on this program and illustrated the types of “literature” being taught to children in these settings:

“Lessons include books about transgender children, such as 10,000 Dresses, and songs like “The Rainbow Song,” which includes the line, “Gender won’t decide the choices we make. Some boys like dressing up; some girls like catching snakes.”

Another example of the attempt to corrupt children comes from a New York Times article from May 19, 2017. The New York Public Library is allowing drag queens to “dress up” and “entertain” children. The story and pictures says all that needs to be said.

Whatever her personal flaws, Anita Bryant stood bravely in the face of the AIDS/HIV epidemic of the 1980s, Obergefell v. Hodges, and now, compulsory LBGTQ brainwashing of our children.
