In your response to “Your Car’s Ready” you made this comment: “I doubt she would want to be a housewife. Nothing in her life would have prepared her for anything like that.” It brought to mind something the certified lay speaker (a young woman) said in the message in my church this past Sunday.

It was to the effect that when the Angel greeted Mary with “Hail, Favored One” Mary would have been thinking “How am I favored? I’m only fourteen and have nothing to look forward to in life but being married to Joseph, having his children, washing clothes in the stream and beating them with rocks. I’m not a princess.”

I’m pretty sure I sat there open-mouthed in stunned disbelief. This is what women think Mary’s attitude was prior to the angelic visitation? That she was some unsatisfied, proto-20th century feminist who also secretly wanted to be a Disney princess? It’s not the only time I’ve heard messages with the same kind of thinking – mainly delivered by women. Has there been some amazing new archeological discovery of texts that prove women of the Old and New Testament era were horribly unsatisfied with their lot in life and wanted to be marching in the streets and running the kingdom?

Thank you so much for your blog and the gifts of writing and music you share with us all.

Thank you for your appreciation.

“Certified lay speaker?”

Women, let alone blasphemous feminists, are not supposed to preach from the altar, in keeping with St. Paul’s words on the subject. This feminist garbage about Mary is inevitable when men have been deposed.

It’s the Wild, Wild West out there, religiously speaking.

Please see my post on “Fake Christianity.” No nation in history has produced so many different religions as America — and most of them are heretical spin-offs of Christianity. It’s enough to make your head spin.
