What kind of world tells a woman to look like a tramp when if she was a little simpler in her lifestyle she could be a housewife to a successful  man?

I doubt she would want to be a housewife. Nothing in her life would have prepared her for anything like that.

Nose rings and tattoos are popular, I think, because they make people look tougher and freer than they really are.
