The Cult of Racial Egalitarianism

April 6, 2022

AT In the Spirit of Chartres, I talked last week with Judith Sharpe about why modern racial ideology is not Christian.

I just scratched the surface. There really is so much more to say.

I just listened to your very impressive presentation–you must have done a lot of research. It is a difficult and complex topic. I certainly have the conviction that multicultural societies do not do well –they go against the very grain of what a ‘nation’ is supposed to be, that is nascio, a birth or common heritage.

With the USA I tend to think that blacks and whites were meant to and indeed did live together. In the South is was possible in the sense that ‘everyone knew their place.’ ‘Equality’ is devastating for a society, I think — because it imposes boredom and conformity upon everything and everyone. It is a lie in every field other than the law. I did have the feeling that the blacks were brought here for a reason– not just to work the cotton fields, but in some sense to be groomed for their formal entrance into history. That is what I tried to suggest in my book, Stewards of History –Dr. King’s powerful language being the initiator of that event.

An interesting counter-argument against multiculturalism would be to say: look at the blacks during the era of segregation. They founded colleges, they achieved wonderful things in music. They began to break down when the liberals got to them and endlessly told them how victimized they were.

Anyway, whether there is any validity to this viewpoint, it does seem to me that America was ‘multicultural’ from the beginning, at least where blacks were concerned. But by no means do I support Asian/South American and other immigration.

Anyhow we seem to have few adults left in the governing ranks. America’s real poverty is the absence of a genuine ruling class.

That would be a great topic for your next discussion!
