Russia Cons Conservatives

FROM The Contemplative Observer:
Based on the removal from the West’s eyes of the communist threat, Moscow went one decisive — and very bold — step further: They shape-shifted, more than under Yeltsin, into a “Russian-nationalist and Christian nation”. This was of course all eyewash. The Party people weren’t even able to properly cross themselves. Church attendance throughout so-called “Russia” remained as miserable as in Soviet times. If you think abortion is bad in America (and it is), look at the numbers in Russia. And Russian society stayed what it had been in Soviet times: dysfunctional and rotten to the core. But this new theme of alleged Russian traditionalism (with strong Stalinist characteristics!) opened new strategic avenues for Moscow to even further shake up and confuse the West: They were now infiltrating and manipulating the Western Right. Communism was gone, it was believed, and the Russians were all just wonderful, weren’t they? With all their tasty vodka, nicely renovated Potemkin churches and monasteries (run by a Russian-Orthodox church as ever under firm KGB control, but who cares), with their entire armies (and they are armies!) of fantastically seductive women, with their great new shopping malls (affordable only for the rich Party oligarchs, but who cares), with their increasingly top-modern infrastructure (at least in and around Moscow and what internally is still being referred to as Leningrad, all to a large degree built by their German friends — as opposed to the vast spaces of unchanged Soviet misery), with all that: Why not deal with them, feast with them and ultimately merge with them? They are like us. They are now even God-fearing, principled and common-sense people. To hell with the woke Left in the West; let’s embrace the Christian saviors of the East!
The process started many years ago. Infiltrating everything on the face of the earth, including all religious faiths, the communists realised they had to create false rightwing fronts as well, in order to work themselves into the conservative camp and take it over. There was, famously, the case of Lyndon LaRouche (1922 – 2019), a notorious communist way into the sixties, who, along with his LaRouche Movement, suddenly turned into an alleged proponent of far-right politics in the seventies. But it has never been anything but a faux-rightwing creation of “National Bolshevism”. Over the years, the trend metastasised under such one-time LaRouche allies as Webster Tarpley19, a widely known “conspiracy theorist” pushing anti-American themes. As the internet age came along, Soviet-inspired disinformation, especially disinformation packaged as “rightwing”, was fully spiralling out of control (while the old communist networks, including the Communist Party USA, were secretly maintaining their ever-same links with Moscow). One name in this regard is that of the infamous Alex Jones (* 1974), who already in his mid twenties began his “rightwing” conspiracy-theory “journalism” (by which this half-baked college dropout became filthy-rich on top of it, as conspiracy theory obviously “sells”). Also Western philosophers and metaphysicists began looking over to Russia, noticing the rise of a Kremlin-controlled Russian “philosopher”-propagandist named Aleksandr Dugin (* 1962), whose “Fourth Political Theory” represents a not-so-veiled argument for an all-Soviet-communist Eurasia.
