Homosexuality

Family Factories

December 12, 2012

THE brave new world of commercial reproduction creates a welter of interesting stories for journalists. There is never a dull day for the news media as long as the child-production factories, with their sleek labs and carpeted waiting rooms, roll along. Engineering human life is extremely complex and therefore extremely interesting. For instance, Cathy Lynn Grossman, (beaming in the photo above) of USA Today, reported earlier this week on the legal “challenges” involved in the cold-blooded, high-tech market for children. Who will be called a mother when one woman provides the eggs and another the womb? It is extremely complex and therefore extremely interesting. It was as if the beaming Grossman were reporting on the latest exciting app for IPhones. We are told the various legal and commercial maneuvers two homosexual men go through to procure twin girls, with the only drawback being that it is all so complex. She wrote: Read More »

Primitive Tribes Show Shocking Interest in Procreation!!

December 10, 2012

IN THE ATLANTIC, Alice Dreger, a professor of “medical humanities” at Northwestern, ponders the findings of two anthropologists who have discovered two African tribes where homosexuality and masturbation are unknown. These tribes present several puzzles to the liberal mind and their ways of life are instructive. Indeed, I would say anthropologists will be studying them for decades, so rich and interesting are the implications.

On the positive side, one of the tribes, who have been studied by the anthropologists Barry and Bonnie Hewlett, is a model of “gender egalitarianism.” Among the Aka, the women sometimes hunt and often “control distribution of resources.” Does that mean giving out bowls of beans? That’s not clear. Whatever it is, if the women control distribution of something important, even bowls of beans, that’s equality in the feminist sense. Read More »

Same-Sex Unions in Maryland “for the Kids”

October 15, 2012

THIS maudlin Washington Post story, more editorial than balanced reporting, argues that the same sex “marriage” law on the Maryland ballot is in the interest of children, echoing the slogan used by Gov. Martin O’Malley, who says people should vote for homosexual unions “for the kids.” That’s right. The governor of Maryland believes that being raised by homosexuals and being denied a relationship of any kind with one parent is actually a good thing and should be championed for its own sake.

The article by Aaron C. Davis features two overweight, middle-aged lesbians (almost all middle-aged lesbians are seriously overweight, or so it seems) seeking to formalize the adoption of one of the woman’s twin sons by the other. They are already legally both the parents of another boy who was born to the same woman. The women appear before a female judge who is delighted with their petition and with the idea of three boys being raised by lesbians. Unsurprisingly, they succeed in the adoption of the twins. Now both of their names are on the childrens’ birth certificates, making this document an outright lie and falsification of parentage. One small battle is won in the ongoing war on children.

Amid the sympathetic details about the immense sacrifices of the lesbian couple, we find this interesting paragraph:

Rice [one of the lesbian women], who manages a homeless shelter in the District, carefully documented their Shady Grove fertility clinic’s use of sperm from an anonymous donor so that no one could later claim fatherhood.

These women have with deliberate calculation obliterated the boys’ father from their lives, and we are supposed to believe that they have the children’s best interests at heart.

The Myth of Marriage Inequality

October 11, 2012

SUPPORTERS of homosexual “marriage” now commonly refer to their program as a question of “marriage equality.” This is one of those phrases, similar to “reproductive rights,” that is so remarkably illogical and absurd it can be demolished in but a few words. And yet so few people speak up to point out that it makes no sense.

There is one politician who speaks the obvious. The Legislative Assembly of Northern Ireland recently defeated a “gay marriage” initiative. In explaining her vote, Michelle McIlveen of the Democratic Unionists Party said it is “simply a myth that this is an equality issue.”

“Everyone is free to marry,” McIlveen said.

This is true. No one is denied the right to marry. There is no marriage inequality.

You could as easily argue that a man who is denied the right to marry, say, Angelina Jolie is a victim of marriage “inequality” as argue that homosexuals who cannot marry people of the same sex are denied equality.

Bullied by Smiles

September 20, 2012

NOTICE the happy, warm faces of the “transgendered” freaks, I mean, individuals in the shocking publicity campaign by the Washington, D.C. Human Rights Commission. The point of these ads, ostensibly inspired by brutality toward transgendered individuals, is that men in lipstick, cross-dressers, self-castraters and women who have undergone barbaric mutilations, and physically injured themselves to a degree that almost certainly surpasses the harm any bullies who have threatened them have inflicted, are very nice people. Only a bigot would turn against such warmth. “You are a hater,” the posters seem to say, “if you object.”

I’m sure some of these confused individuals are very nice.

But these male women and female men, for all their smiles and friendliness, are part of an aggressive, bullying movement that is not warm and cuddly. It seeks to force-feed us with demonic confusion and ultimately it demonstrates disregard for the individuals it showcases. It doesn’t effectively care if these individuals are victimized because if it did it would encourage them at least to be discreet with their psychological disorientation and help them work toward being normal, which would be the greatest protection against any victimization.

Bureaucratic tyranny, as James Kalb put it, imposes softly and with smile. If it were brutal, how much easier it would be to spot the enemy. Its success in making the real victims seem like bullies and Nazis makes it an overwhelming force for evil.

Obama Supports Marriage for Homosexuals

May 9, 2012

NOT only did Obama finally say he supports same-sex “marriage” today, a statement which was no surprise at all, but he specifically affirmed the importance of redefining marriage for members of the military:

I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married,” he told ABC.

Of course, there are no soldiers constrained from committing themselves in marriage. All soldiers can marry. There are, however, no soldiers who are permitted to weaken military morale and dignity by “marrying” members of the same sex and to raise children under such conditions.

It is good that Obama made this statement, barring a complete change of direction on his part. It was clearly his position all along.

A Temporary Victory in Colorado

May 9, 2012

STEVE writes:

Colorado Speaker of the House Frank McNulty (R) last night finally stepped up and killed the Civil Unions Bill before it could go to the floor for a vote. Had the bill gone to the floor, most likely it would have passed because of the votes of moderate Republicans. The media reports on this entire process have been extremely biased. Read More »

Discussion of Homofascism

May 6, 2012

NEW comments have been added to the entry on recent attacks by homofascists and their hate-filled supporters.

It’s important to emphasize one point. These attacks are not simply the work of a fanatical fringe. Not only do we see ordinary people driving and walking down the street participating in them, but we see the vast portion of America participating. This violence has been aided and encouraged by the mainstream, which constantly stokes the anger and resentment behind it. Those who believe that by embracing homosexuality, this resentment will diminish are remarkably deluded. In fact, the more society agrees that homosexuals have been victimized (legitimizing same-sex “marriage” is extravagant confirmation of victimhood), the more any disapproval of homosexuality will be viewed as an outrage.

All speech in favor of traditional morality would have to be forcibly suppressed for this seething, ever-flowing font of hostility and hatred to be quelled. Civil union measures and the same-sex “marriage” project are inherently totalitarian.

When Christian Martyrdom is Replaced by Terminal Sentimentality

November 29, 2011

JEANETTE V. writes:

I made a remark in an online discussion of this article about transgendered lesbians that got several people in an uproar. I said: “These freak shows are covered to desensitize the public into accepting the bizarre as normal.”

This an example of the responses I got:  Read More »

Why Men Become Homosexual

September 17, 2010

ANTHONY ESOLEN, in two recent articles at Touchstone magazine, offers ten reasons why homosexual marriage is wrong. I highly recommend his arguments, which are aimed at a non-religious audience. In the last of the two articles, he offers a compelling account of why men become homosexual. The perfectly normal desire for male companionship and approval leads to an obsession with male love. He writes:

Before the current wave of political advocacy, many psychologists who studied homosexual men did come to some plausible conclusions about the same-sex attraction. From their studies and from what I know about the nature of boys, I offer the following alternative theory to explain male homosexuality. Read More »
