A FRIEND recently ‘googled’ the word ‘domestic.’ Guess what she got.

“Domestic terrorist.”

Pages and pages on “domestic terrorism.”

Do you believe it? Domesticity no longer calls up images of the woman at the stove. Now it’s bombers and political assassins.

What a world. But then …. Maybe domesticity should be associated with danger. After all, every defender of domestic tranquility and virtue is a threat — far more dangerous to the powers-that-be than assassins.

The housewife is a domestic terrorist. Ideally, not to her family (though sadly sometimes that is so with some of us) but to a society soaked in materialism and falsehoods.
