The Lesson of 9/11

THE LESSON of 9/11 is that an enemy wants your mind and heart. It wants to dazzle and traumatize you. It wants your thoughts and your capacity for compassion. It wants to drench you in emotion and fear. It wants your ability to reason and follow basic logic. After all, these are its greatest threats.

Thus, the real lesson is that your mind and emotions are important. Otherwise they wouldn’t expend so much energy on capturing them. Thieves don’t steal things that are without value.

Ultimately there is nothing to fear. That’s because you own your mind and heart. Your soul can’t be taken from you. You don’t need to consent to fear. You are not alone in your love for truth. Logic is inherent in reality and fact will prove stronger in the end than media magic and the forces of hatred and manipulation. Lies can’t hide forever. Treasure your instincts. Treasure your gut feeling that something is not right. Treasure the voice of truth that is within you. God rules all things and honesty blooms forth like a flower in the desert.

The justice of the upright shall make his way prosperous: and the wicked man shall fall by his own wickedness.

The justice of the righteous shall deliver them: and the unjust shall be caught in their own snares.

(Proverbs 11:5-6)
