Janice writes:

Until they humble themselves, change their hearts and drop their pride, God leaves to their own stubborn will those who cannot bear any correction or warning about their sins and errors, and label those who act out of love as “haters”.
They will not listen. Those who have no suffering or difficulty in this life are in serious spiritual danger.

That must be why God chastises those who love Him. They realize He wishes to keep everyone in His love.
